Former Duquette Subdivision preliminary plan.
The lot has been divided and a 40 acre parcel which includes the gravel operation
Has been Sold to John Drew Jr. of Orange for an expanded Gravel Operation
See below for new Duquette Plans for 55+ Homes

This is the largest subdivision ever proposed for Athol, and it is one of several that have been approved for the town in the past year alone. The houses will be sold at $350,000 according to the landowner, on lots between 1 and 2 acres in size.  With housing prices skyrocketing in the Route 495 and Boston corridors, Athol is now viewed as a profitable place to speculate on real estate.  This subdivision will create a new, crowded bedroom community of commuters in Athol, who will not bring increased revenue or jobs to the town.  Even the construction/design firm is an out-of-town interest.

The Athol Planning Board approved the preliminary plan in August 2005, but the builders have not submitted a definitive plan.  When they do, the plan will be scrutinized by Friends of Tully Lake, our attorneys, engineers, federal and state agencies.  You must also get involved and let the town boards know that you care about the future of this region!"
